To be clear, these updates are restricted to my24+ only because the PCM can break during updates, so porsche doesn't want to risk itYes, absolutely.
However, often newer software features are only available for the newer generations or even model year.
An example is (and I could be wrong), that with the MY2024 the passenger display received the ability to watch youtube or stream videos, which is not possible for the MY2020. One can argue if it is needed.
Maybe another one is the ability to use Apple Carplay Ultra, this will most likely be available for MY2026 or later. We still need to wait and see.
Hence, the current software update feature you get today will be limited. I know, smart devices have the same problem at some point in time, however, the investment is a bit different and they still receive more features over time than the PCM or any traditional car maker.
I fully agree, which confirms my point, hardware should be easily upgraded as well. ?To be clear, these updates are restricted to my24+ only because the PCM can break during updates, so porsche doesn't want to risk it![]()
https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...entertainment-anyone-have-it-installed.12699/My wishlist:
- vehicle to grid support
- suicide doors like mission e concept
- more leather color options. I want the BMW brown colors.
- bracket where I could hang an iPad for rear passengers, so my kids can watch television while we are on road trips
- solar roof to charge when parked
- non EV rims options. I couldn’t care less about range.
- black spoiler for ST like the CT or Panamera ST have
- 5 gauges at my dashboard like Panamera
- and I want @chun to be happy, so we get less Chinese EV propaganda (lol)
