Interesting update.
  • My Taycan had the ARB7 from the very beginning, it never changed to ARB6.
  • I took it to the dealer about 3 weeks ago, they applied the ARB7 fix. However, they haven’t filed it with Porsche, as NHTSA was still showing ARB7 recall incomplete and even the Porsche internal service records never showed that visit. I was chatting with the dealer about something else last week and asked about it, they told me it can take a month to percolate through the system.
  • Today my car tells me I have an OTA update for ARB7. So I apply it once I get home. Update applies successfully.
  • I checked barely 2 hours later. NHTSA site no longer shows ARB7. Porsche service history shows an ARB7 OTA campaign applied, and ARB7 is no longer pending.
So it seems Porsche systems sync up with NHTSA very fast, even on a Sunday. The curious thing though is the fact that the dealer applied the campaign, but then OTA campaign can still be received and applied. Did the software install twice? Did the OTA have a newer version? If same version, why did it not detect they the correct version is already running? I also wonder whether the dealer just hasn’t submitted the campaign for a few weeks, and if so, what happens when it is submitted and the system shows the car already had that done over the air?
The other likely possibility is that the Dealer didn’t really apply the ARB7 Update (maybe it was ARB6). It seems that there is confusion about what is the ARB6 update and what is the ARB7 update in general, and possibly at your dealership.

My guess is that your OTA was the “real” ARB7 Update.

I just got my ARB6 and ARB7 letter. I assumed all 2020-24 Taycans are affected. Does receiving the letter mean anything?

Since July, my car has been to the dealership twice, (for camera repair), and they mentioned they applied and tested for the ARB recalls. (Need to check my shop notes)

check recall status for your VIN at NHTSA and Porsche recall sites.

Read this post on a different thread for more context about your notification. Most likely all is well…

My car never showed ARB6, not in NHTSA, not in Porsche database (which we now know can sync up very quickly with NHTSA site), I never got an ARB6 letter either, only ARB7. Furthermore, the invoice for the service specifically called out ARB7 campaign:
Porsche Taycan High Voltage Battery Recall EXPANDED - ARB6 & ARB7 1755495412879-l

as does the OTA campaign record in Porsche database:
Porsche Taycan High Voltage Battery Recall EXPANDED - ARB6 & ARB7 1755495539099-d

Could the dealer service have been just a battery check (though not required by ARB7)? The car was there after I got the letter that ARB7 software is available and that I should make an appointment to get it applied, so in my mind it would seem they just applied that.

Sorry to stray off topic a bit, but what is the camera repair you're in for? I've complained that my front camera stops working intermittently, but two different dealers have both said "sorry, working fine when we use it." Most recently I was told they wouldn't do anything unless I took a video of it happening (I only have pictures and that wasn't his enough 🤦‍♂️).

Got the OTA update today (and the letter a couple weeks ago). Update went smoothly, no issues. Porsche and NHTSA recall check shows 0 recalls now (previously ARB7).

Same confusion here. Got the letter for ARB6/ARB7 where I know I am under ARB87, scheduled appointment with dealer and then I got OTA for ARB7, installed, so give me a Like if I am good to go and do not need to go to the dealer as long as I am clear on the recall sites, with corporate showing that I am recall free, which is hard to believe:

Also got ARB7 OTA. No issues on download/installation. Interestingly, my dealer had just told me a few days before they had no info from Porsche when it would be available. I called them and told them it had been taken care of OTA, and they were thrilled. Apparently I was their first, and they were relieved they weren't going to have to deal with it.
Porsche...German for "no communication."
