I have major doubts

Yes this is the best approach, and I hope this will happen. But for now it is just one source.

Yes at this point, this is only a rumor.
If only Porsche could develop a new technology to, I don't know... push the fix through air... maybe using some radiation or light photons, at frequency we can't see... and they would encode information over it... and the cars could receive it... and update its software...
I know I know, I'm speaking crazy, this is impossible sci-fi tech.

You can extend the warranty up to 15 years. So not the reason.
Just bad management and lack of understanding of software, both typical german traits :D
You can....at £1,000 per year :)

Really can't see them updating us all to the latest version of s/w. They've been thinking holding that away from J1.1 owners will make them upgrade to J1.2. That mindset isn't changing.

But if I'm wrong, I'll be happy.

(I can imagine them doing another version of the latest s/w with all the new stuff disabled and then upgrading everyone. That sort of thinking seems to be the Porsche way!).

Why are we paying for warranty if they can't fix this? Is software excluded or are we getting screwed?

A fix in June means that I had to wait for a total of 11 months for this fix. Is this worth 1000$ py? I'm going to raise this question to Porsche Netherlands.

Thought it might be useful to report that I continue to heavily use (lots of long journeys as well as using every day for shorter journeys too) the navigation with zero crashes since my LTE broke a few weeks back. Working like a dream, obviously without traffic updates. I haven’t received any software updates - the only thing that has changed from crashing every few miles to zero issues is the LTE.

It’s almost worth the trade off with no remote access for checking charge levels or preconditioning.

Interesting data-point, thanks. That would imply the hangs/crashes relate to live data updates from the cloud. Perceived wisdom so far seemed to suggest the problems are caused by attempting to manage en-route chargers, with the increasing number of available chargers overloading the PCM. I guess the whole live / constant updates from the cloud is still consistent with the theory.

I asked PC Rotterdam, service advisor told me for 1 year it is 2300 for 2 years extention 3500.
I believe , the more years get cheaper

when did you get yours?
I have the same experience with pricing here in France. This year however the extensions were a lot dearer, not just because of age of car, but general increases. Shows you the confidence is detoriating for Porsche Taycan’s quality.

Seems Porsche just increased the price of Approved Warranty. Few weeks ago it was around €3600 for 3 years. I checked across few dealership in Netherlands and there are variation of the price (all for 3 years of individual warranty):

Porsche Centrum Twente - € 4.968 + €464 for 111 points check
Porsche Centrum Amsterdam & Rotterdam - € 5.411 + unknown for 111 points check
Porsche Centrum Gelderland - €4.170 + €816,75 activation cost + €345 for 111 point check
Porsche Centrum Brabant - €5.482 + €225 for 111 points check
Porsche Centrum Groningen & Maastricht - not disclosing the price online

Interestingly in Germany, the price increase seems as not as steep as here in Netherlands and Porsche Assistance is optional, do you think we are able to get it there for Dutch registered car?

Sure you can. I did it before. No issues.

Recently, I did renew it in Leusden, it was 3450€ if I recall correctly, for 3 years additional.
And I had one year remaining, as such covered until nov 2029.

Indeed they just increased the pricing for PA. Shows that the previous prices quoted cost insurers money.
If Germany quotes are reasonable just get it there....

You can get the warranty in Germany but not Porsche Assistance. I don't know about the Netherlands, but in Belgium they are not allowed anymore to offer Porsche Assistance without the warranty. So if you get the warranty extension in Germany, you will need to get some other road assistance.

Indeed prices have gone up. I paid £3000 for 3 years in November. It is now £3450 which is about €4000. So cheaper in the UK for some reason. It was another £450 (approx) for the recovery service for 3 years

Back on topic... My Taycan is in for a heater recall today and I mentioned the navigation issue as I dropped the car off... The service chap knew right away about the issue, and also recommended the "workaround" to disable the charge planning.... So either there's some lurkers on the thread, or more detail is finally getting to Porsche dealerships.
