Nicely done! and great info ... The 'major' service is every 6 years when they replace pads - and possibly discs too.... :O

For us with PSCB/PCCB that's gonna hurt! ... that's when it could be worth investigating an accredited indie and potential impact on warranty/history etc....

Not 100% sure with PCCBs, but the pads are mandatory on PSCB at 6 years regardless of wear - It's an age thing - 6 years max allowed under warranty if you want an official service.... I assume same for PCCB.

I sincerely hope not - the Taycan hardly uses the mechanical brakes so the wear will be minimal. The cost, however, will not be .

Maybe it's an excuse to change the car before 6 years...

Absolutely agree about wear .. But it's in the published maintenance schedule - Will be a lot cheaper at an accredited indie, but need to consider any warranty and resale history implications (if any).... Discs are not mandatory thank goodness (10k+)! They depend on inspection..

If you’re heavy on brakes 100-130mph. Is this normal brakes or electric that slows you down quickly. I notice the first hit on the break at these speeds can be very slow to react.

Interesting - In my experience if I am going like 70mph and hit the brakes hard-ish to slow down say for a round about in sport mode, I’ve notice the car usually use 100% brake and not regen at all. I’d say this happens like 70% of the time.

The car uses regen for braking most of the time AIUI.

Exceptions...

• A short period (a mile or so IME) when using the car after it's been stood (overnight IME)
• The last 12mph or so of braking (may be a bit less) when it transitions from regen to hydraulic
• When the battery is 100% charged. You may get a small period when the hydraulic brakes are used (though tbh IME this coincides with the first point generally.

Other than that, my understanding and experience (looking at the power meter) is that regen is used.

Price is about right if 40K / 4 year service. Same cost for a Macan ICE and seems the entry point for any Porsche these days.

My first Taycan service was £650 at 2 years but servicing costs have now rocketed due to excessive labour rates.

What's not listed is the mandatory brake fluid change at 2 year intervals so likely that work will have been done too.

Servicing Porsche EVs is costly compared to BMW.

Warranty may be impacted.

Yeah, line item prices just a little higher than what I paid Porche Reading in Dec ‘25. Skipped the brake fluid change because the brake line recall had been done relatively recently. Might be worth asking about that as they don’t seem to skip anything without being questioned!
