It's pretty easy to test this cuz after one week the 12V battery is dead, maybe even sooner.
If it's not dead, try two weeks (to check if it's not a coincidence).
If it holds two weeks, it'll probably hold months.
For peace of mind I would definitely test it after the update.

Unplanned and unsurprising I am in the process of testing this now.

My wife now blankly refuses to go on a trip in the Taycan any longer. Since we enjoy a long week end or maybe a week or so away frequently. For shorter trips here a<t home the Taycan is not practical at all due to its size compared to the roads and parking spaces offered.

My previous e persienner has been that 3-4 weeks without use have not presented any problems at all. Seems 7 weeks plus has been the limit for the car then. So let’s see where I end up now. Since parking the car I hve left the bonnet open, hope I will not regret that later.

There is nothing wrong with it. Taycan GATEWAY supports AGM batteries, merely coding the Gateway and changing the type from LiFepo$ to AGM is enough to ensure it's always correctly charged.

Porsche just chose the Lithium for the sake of it. They did the same in tje Cayenne and switched back to AGM in 2025 models onwards.

Changing to AGM is perfectly fine, we've done hundreds of cars literally
I think it would be very beneficial for all if you would please describe the proceedure.
i have launch x431 and i was in menu where i can change battery type. but i also seen online that changing software is not enough. you need some kind of kit to tell car there is no more bsm for 12v battery i just dont undrrstand why nobody expanded on this very important system cheat over 6 pages of discusions!!??
1 you need to tell ah
2 you need to tell brand
3 you need to tell type
4 you need to tell serial number but where to find it i gues 99 percent it will not be accepted cause few batteries come with valid 7 digitletter combo that car will accept!

hi,
it would be extremely nice if you could expand on programing proceedure, i have seen people saying that software is not enough you need a kit hardware to attach to negative to tell car it has no more bms these kit cost 300 euro! you have no mention if that at all wonder why. i have launch pro and i saw menu for batery programing

1 . you need to tell ah
2 . you need to tell brand
3. you need to tell type
4. you need serial number of 7 figures and here is the problem- most manufacturers bateries willnot have a number that taycan will accept so pleSe tell us how do you program it.
im stunned how nobody expanded on this brilliant solution 6 pages about not important things and most important one left out.
and to add . its not that difficult to put car amg battery on charge every second week overnite if you park it on you property. flats i get it its not easy but private home its easy

im not sure if they allow me comment but please expand on this programing steps. in atep 4 you need valid 7 number serial number non of manufacturers cary it and it will not match taycan system.
2 . is the no hardware to attach to negative lead to tell bms no longer there whoch cost loke 300 uds!
