Edit:↑ oh… 😢

Really hoping CT is just later, not dead.

Also hoping it’s true this is actually the same as Cayenne infotainment enough that it supports CarPlay driver display.

“plus a smartphone storage tray with a magnetic ring mount and charging capacity of up to 25 watts.“
I want to know more about this. Can never find a practical place to put my phone in the Taycan.

Preatty sure it's the same one as before, in the storage compartment of the console - just faster.

My problem with the slide-in one is that it always seem to activate the side buttons on my iPhone when I slot it in there. Not to mention the challenging ergonomics of reaching into the center console. If it could be replaced with a magnet that I can drop the phone onto, that would be lovely.

I am surprised by this update. I like what I read here. I like the paddles, the better sound and the cellphone tray.

I hope these improvements land in the e Boxster.

So basically a J1.3. Not sure about the e shift but will give it a test as soon as possible. Love the PCM changes. Brings the car in to the future.

Looking forwards to taking the new GTS for a spin❤🚗
Lol no. There are barely any changes. PCM update and e-shift update.
Everything else is the same. Same battery, motors and so on. J1.2.1 if anything.

The e-sound demo is cool; but this option sounds a bit bizarre:
"noticeable gear-shift jerks, gear-specific drag torque"

Perhaps we could go even further back in time and have an option which makes the car bump around as though it were towed by a horse?
As long as it can be turned off and on and that config is saved, all good. It might even help people who tend to get sick in EVs.

Ah, I'm really worried about the vision at Porsche. Instead of truly embracing the new EV tech and improving this, they just follow trends and are adding "emotive e-shift" so silly.

I wish they would instead return to Porsche engineering roots: think instead about cutting edge EV motors with higher efficiency (like lucid motors) or cutting edge battery tech (like latest catl 6min charging), or using 4 motors for better torque vectoring, finding ways to simplify without needing the gearbox etc.

And just put some engineers aside to keep improving the current software and enabling true OTA (instead of some new system every 3 years). It is not rocket science 😑

Ah well, in the meantime my 2020 j1.1 is absolutely awesome :D And I still love the design over the more recent ones 😍 I cannot think of any car i would like better than the j1.1 taycan.

Different center console, bye-bye track pad, 5X faster PCM software, and pricing, that while not yet announced in the U.S. for the CT/GTS ST models, when I compare apples to apples best I could for a saloon, even with the $1K E-shift added it appeared to be very close, 2027 pricing.

The is just my first time through it, and any corrections/updates to my first paragraph would be apprciated. Those in Europe who can build a CT, can you also please build a GTS Sports Turismo — and if so any pricing or other changes you can see. TU!

it's all gonna be there, in the next gen, most likely J2, this one is just refining the current platform
i assume the next gen will have everything you said including different battery tech, potential solid state, even better PAR, it's going to be the leader of the sub 200k EV products again including all the crap from China after these updates.

Hey, I sure hope you are right :)
Let's hope the new CEO sees the light as well
