it’s odd that they can remotely fix it but not remotely tell what nav version you’re on currently
Because it's bullshit :D

Not to mention that Porsche germany IT team is in shutdown until monday, due to holidays.
So who looked? The empty desk by itself?
And the software is not even done in germany, it's mostly done by a team in Cluj Romania - which have national holiday.

Such a joke...

They are treating the owners like cavemen dropped on their head with 0 intelligence, giving them bullshit excuses over and over again.

I don't have 6 months to deliver a brand new software solution, meanwhile Porsche expects 12 months for a bug fix in "prod environment":)) Pathetic - but hey, it's the EVs market that is shit, not them...

Why are Porsche owners so patient? Post 256
What can we do? It is the most boring bug ever for the press. Most people will think we experience first-world problems and are snobs for complaining about it.

Maybe they could fix it by making J1.2 PCM software roll out nicely to J1.1 cars.

Might be quicker and we'd all be much happier 😊

Mine restarted 6x in 40 miles today. Getting serviced Thursday and this is on the list.

Got the following answer from Porsche Smart Mobility. But as described in this thread, 3885 does not fix the problem. I will wait until a final solution is known.

I started having these issues a few days ago. Freezing and/or restarting. Really shitty situation driving home from winter holiday in the snow.

I am running SW 3382, so no need to push the dealer for 3385?

@Jasper4S what dealer did you file the complaint?

Thanks for everyone sharing, it is good to see my cats is not alone with bugs. Will keep an eye on this thread for updates.

I didn’t file a complaint through the dealership; instead, I directly contacted Porsche. You can find their contact details in the My Porsche app. Unfortunately, I can’t share them with you because they are country-specific.

FWIW...

In the Uk there is a specific part of PorscheGB to deal with APP-PCM issues called 'smartmobility' with a dedicated email address - Could be similar arrangements in other countries?

In the UK - smartmobility is much more reactive than the general PorscheGB team that can take days to reply or pass you on to the right team. Porsche GB stock reply to anything remotely technical is along the lines of .... 'we don't know - we recommend to contact your OPC - would you like us to give you their contact details?" :giggle::giggle::giggle:

smartmobility seems to be more on-the-ball

cheers

It fixed mine as far as I can tell so far.. no crashes even with Porsche Charging Planner active, whereas prior it crashes every few minutes

This weekend just gone, I repeated the identical 750 miles round-trip I performed before Xmas when the nav crashed on me every 10 mins or so, and reliably failing me at every critical route juncture. This time round, it did not crash once. AFAIK nothing happened to the car in the 3 weeks between, so perhaps something changed on Porsche's server end.

This is the good news.

The bad news is that the Charge Planner did not work as I would have expected. Right from the outset, it had scheduled a stop at Q8 by Heide on the E17. It is a poor choice from the start (as I discovered) because the station if just off the motorway with zero amenities. As I set out, it reported 9/10. Fine. As I drew nearer, it kept going down. Which I thought of as very odd because enough time had gone by so that folks should be leaving again. When I got there with a mere 36km remaining, it was at 0/10. I knew that the (much better) FastNed station in Gentbrugge was nearby but I lost my bottle because IT WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND on the nav. Gone. 20 HPC vanished in thin air. Ditto the HPCs at Total nr Kalken. Gone - nowhere to be found. So it was profoundly frustrating that the Charge Planner did not adjust its strategy as the Q8 station filled up.

On the subject, Belgian EV drivers must be a strange crowd. There was nothing to do at the Q8 stop so many were sitting in their cars waiting for their battery to charge from 98% to 100%. One car was at 100% - no idea what the driver was up to in the frozen desert. What a bunch of anti-social time-wasters :(

EDIT: On reflection, across the course of the entire journey, I received zero map updates. That was different to the crashing experience on the earlier trip.

I just received a response from Porsche that they will inform my local Porsche center of the procedure to ‘hopefully’ correct the issue and schedule an appointment to do so. They said I would be cc’d with the procedure too so I’m aware of what will be carried out.
Let’s see if it’s anything new or just the usual update to 3885.

So it’s the famous TI 65/23 plus update to the latest PCM (3884 I guess) which my Porsche centre have been asked to perform in my car. Time to call them for an appt.

I wonder when they can fit me in!

The whole charge planning experience is very frustrating, especially when it just ignores and overwrites any preferred or favourite charging stops you send to the car after a careful route plan on the app, or when you want to tweak the suggestion on the fly and it shows you charging stops that are close but already behind you. Grrr.
