So, I have had this issue since November. I went to my Porsche center; they updated the software to 3885, and guess what, this did nothing. Went again, they changed the PCM, guess what, this did nothing. The issue is still there. I do not know what to do. I sent an email to [email protected] describing this issue because their carelessness is a bit too much.
That’s going to do nothing.

If you want to do something that may help, go and fill in a recall complaint. Mention how it disables preconditioning sometimes, how it sometimes forgets to stop preconditioning - overheating the battery and increasing risk of fire; mention how it disables drive assist such as InnoDrive mid use which can cause an accident if you don’t react fast enough.

Again, I encourage everyone to fill in recall notices with their government, because once the government demands for this issue to be addressed via a recall, then they will be forced to prioritize this issue

Will do it right now.

FWIW I just sent this to smartmobility GB and to Porsche Germany.. not that I expect anything to happen..

Dear Smartmobility GB and Porsche Germany

Please take this in the proactive spirit in which it is intended...

Please refer to https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/eu-uk-ongoing-navigation-issues.28704/page-66#post-516858

Smart Mobility GB and Porsche Germany are aware that many (all?) J1.1 Taycan owners in UK/Europe are having ongoing and common-to-all, Sat-nav/Charge Planner issues. I do not need to describe them here. These started last year and are still ongoing, with no general acknowledgement or meaningful communication from Porsche.

You should also be aware that your customers are now starting to get organised/mobilised to try to get Porsche to take this issues seriously and communicate properly on it - and not just deal with your customers as individuals. Some are contacting national regulators etc to bring pressure to bear to get Porsche to treat this issue seriously.

The time and money of many customers and the OPCs themselves are being wasted by PAG sending customers to OPCs for software updates that are already known not to solve the problem. Despite assurances by the OPCs that they will solve the problems. This is wasteful and deeply frustrating, with customers having to go in to the OPCs for their 'fix', knowing in advance that it's a waste of time.

Everyone is getting different stories on this issue from their national Porsche entities and from OPCs, who clearly have no idea what is going on. Some customers are reporting that they are being told be their OPC that their problems are unique, when this is clearly incorrect. Others are being told that a software solution is coming this year while others are getting different stories.

Someone in Porsche needs to go on the above forum and take the time to read every page and report the growing resentment and frustration of your Taycan customers to the highest level in Porsche Germany...

It's such a shame that your customers are being treated in such a cavalier way. It is tarnishing what otherwise would be a great car as well as Porsche's historic reputation itself. Once your credibility is lost - it will be VERY difficult to recover.

I do hope someone in Porsche will try to understand the present mood of your Taycan customers and communicate with us properly. Everyone accepts that problems will occur, we expect these in life, what really upsets people is when they are not treated seriously.

Has Porsche started adding the providers in Romania to their maps? Last trip I did to romania, last year, almost none of the charger were on the porsche map - and I had to add them manually via google search.
At least the map was running off the old API at the time, so no crashes 😅
Both in Romania and Hungary - they do add them but they are usually like 6 months behind - often a nice new Ionity charger will get missed if you don't crosscheck with another maps software.

What can I say - the MY26 has lightning fast Nav and even the phone doesn't overheat anymore because they added a vent that blows cold air straight at it when it's in the holder.

Doesn't make the lack of support for the older models okay though.
That design with the phone under the armrest, let's just hope they change it in the next iteration - it is a bit of an abomination.

I'll test drive one with PAR at some point - that might convince me though.

That and a Porsche service center closer than 400km, right now visiting them is like a distant pilgrimige of sorts.

I got my reply form Porsche to my email (posted here earlier) telling them that customers were exasperated at the inconsistent information - most of which was garbage (I paraphrase) and some were taking coordinated action on this

The thanked me for the information on customers etc. and more or less acknowledged that the 3885 solution does not work, they suggested to use the switching off charge planner solution, they said that a team was working on a solution as a matter of urgency.

so FWIW replied thus.....

Many thanks Hannah for your prompt and positive reply.

It is heartening to hear that a team is working on this - perhaps Porsche PAG should publish a notice to customers on that simple point, so they don't feel they are being kept in the dark.

It is also good to hear you accept/imply that the 3885 solution does not work. Perhaps Porsche PAG could also address that with a notice to customers and perhaps avoid customers jumping through that unnecessary hoop? Again it would help to harmonise the information being given to OPCs and customers on this.

FYI The charge planner workaround you suggest has been identified and promulgated weeks ago by one of the Taycanform members - but this is the first time I have heard it from Porsche. Also, of course, not every Taycan owner is a member of the Taycan Forum and so many may not be aware of this workaround. Perhaps Porsche PAG could add this to a note to customers?

The main benefit of this kind of harmonising and honest communication, even if it does not solve the issue, is that it may help to make your customers feel valued; and, to understand steps are being taken to resolve the issue (eventually).

Anyways, I will paraphrase your reply on the Taycan forum so at least that small tranche of customers will have some consistent information - even if it's not direct from the horse's mouth.

I’m guessing that came from smart mobility?

If so only today my contact there “Shane” was asking me if he could close my reported problem regarding the PCM as he understood that the OPC had implemented the TI (3885). Oblivious that the car is still at the OPC. The lack of coordination is staggering.

Yup! My email was sent jointly to Uk Smartmobility and Porsche Germany - but SM's reply to me was not copied to PAG - that's one reason why I went to the trouble to reply again today, cos I again sent it jointly to SM and PAG.

PAG have not yet replied - but I only sent it a couple of days ago....

In few days if I have not heard from PAG, I will follow up with them asking for a reply from them - telling them that this august Forum is expecting me to report back to them .... and I will repeat that until they respond. And of course I will post their response here if I get one...

I am guessing they will either not respond at all; or, will say something like 'please confine communications the SM-UK' - In either case..... it would be great if as many Forum members as possible could send them an email ([email protected]) enquiring when they are going to provide an information notice on the sat-nav issue...

Just a suggestion

Cheers

Hi,

I just had a call from my dealer that my PCM has been replaced and after some tests they don't have the issue.
We know that it's not the case and I can see that there are in private mode now so it's not the same as when I'll drive it.

I will ask which PCM version was installed but I'm pretty sure it will be the old one with the 3885 software version.

Question to you guys, if we switch off the 'charge planner', what will change ? What are we going to miss during navigation with the pcm?

the car will not plan charging stops. Rest of navigation works as expected

But if I do as usual, plan my stops with ABRP and enter the next stop as destination and as a charger, the car will precondition and give me the % at that stop?

If it's the case and it never crash anymore, I could live with this.
