So no issues if i were to swap the ASG back to the original without clearing any faults before bringing it into the dealer? It won't trigger anything/raise any red flags?

I ask because I will be bringing it in for some work in about two weeks.

If the dealer needs to diagnose something and then there's extra faults present, it might slow down the diagnosis that's all.

For warranty purposes it does not matter, what matters is what is in the car at the moment that the dealer requests warranty work to be approved. So the "here and now" versus "what has been".

If you come in with a tuned module, then the "here and now" is the fact that the tuned module is fitted. All the modules in the tuning detection system also keep track of when they were reflashed and the cryptographic hashes of each software that was flashed, so that is why flashing the car to stock does not work to avoid the flag - once you flash the "wrong" software into the module, it is permanently flagged as having had invalid software in it and the car is flagged on the next check.
However, at the moment, even with a flagged ASG Porsche chooses not to refuse warranty service for the Taycan.

If you exchange the module, then there is no flashing history in the original module with incorrect software, and even if there are fault codes present about communication loss with modules, those are not relevant for the warranty check whatsoever.

Against swapping modules there is "component protection", but with that the module is essentially policing itself (causing the car to have almost no power and various errors to light up on the dash). So if you have a hacked/modified module, then you can make it not police itself anymore.
The ASG also does not really store mileage or VIN permanently, it just reads those from the bus when key on is triggered.

In the end, modifying the ASG can not damage the motors or the battery because the ASG is not responsible for any protection at all. It does not have such functions - any power limitations in the ASG are of commercial nature only.

Saw a similar question back in April '25 regarding the possibility of being able to re-use a swappable ASG via a remote update for a fee on another Taycan after selling the car for which it was originally bought. Has there been any development on that? Love my Taycan but will likely change it within in the next year or two due to fretting about the HVB warranty and the effect time remaining might have on its value.

Yes. However the module isn't that expensive, you would save approx. 400EUR/500USD on module+shipping and we also give 10% on the new software (the module has to be reflashed and recoded). This works out to about 25% off list price.

Also keep in mind that J1.1 and J1.2 modules are not compatible with each other.

Just completed my test driving - Standard Tune from MapEV, otherwise stock GTS ST

It is more powerful than I even expected. I described it to a colleague as optically confusing, as it does not compute to see the digital speedo adjust that quickly.

The pull at 70, 90 or even 100+ (where I let off) is shocking. Before the car would 'hit' in second gear for a good burst and let off ... now it just simply pulls until you run out of road or courage. Crazy how powerful this car is now.

Overall, very pleased with the relatively simple process of installation and technical communications with the MapEV team via email.

The 992.2 GTS is insane on the track though, I just drove it at Hockenheim. Zero turbolag too.

Had a chance to drive the 992.2 GTS in Atlanta a few months ago and agree, the lack of turbo lag was incredibly enjoyable. Very very fun car to drive on a track, and at $9 a minute to do so it better be!

I am on the fence. On one hand, unlocking power is just nice. On the other hand, I've seen that the J1.1 Turbo S is the one that has the smallest increase of all models.

I need to mull over this a bit longer. Any J1.1 Turbo S owners out there with this upgrade, who are willing to share their experience?

Technically the smallest increase outside launch control is not on the Turbo S but the Turbo.
This is because they both gain the same amount of power, but the Turbo gains 60Nm, while the Turbo S gains 100 Nm.

The Turbo S is noticeably faster from all speeds. I did all the development on my Turbo S.

It's a 1sec improvement 60-130mph and improved throttle response which was needed.

You notice a significant difference when you're not in lunch control.

Just installed MapEV on my '22 GTS over the weekend and WOW!

Quicker throttle response is noticeable and appreciated, while still maintaining stock smoothness. The power is seriously addicting, it just pulls and pulls and pulls.

And yet, when others drive it like a normal car, they don't know the difference. Perfect.

So I finally got to test my J1.1 Turbo with the MapEV ASG and there's a lot of good news and significant bad news.

Starting with the bad, absolutely nothing wrong with the tune, but my old Draggy died immediately after I finished a single run. The light went off and I lost connection to it on my phone. At first I thought it was my phone so I reset my bluetooth, rebooted, reinstalled the app, etc. Only to realize the Draggy module itself died, won't even charge. So I'll be ordering something else very soon as I plan on hitting the track very soon.
The other bad news, I need new rear tires. I knew this after getting my 12v battery replaced, as I have enough tread to drive. But they won't hook when I launch. Still that lead to some good news:

On my single run, on a back road not far from my house of not very healthy asphalt I got a 0-60 run of 2.57s with tires chirping. It showed as Verified, and then while slowing down, I lost connection and thats when the problems began with the draggy. So I wasn't able to screenshot it.

Will order another test module soon and try to get some more numbers, but I am happy that the seat of the pants feel matches the numbers!
