According to @ct14garage there is a version 4xxx that can be flashed right now. But I have not tried it and as my Taycan is sold as of this Friday I can not test either...
I know he has stated this. But has yet to prove that it works. Since he has access he could try it on a J1.1 and show some proof that it works then I will belive🤷‍♂️

Honestly not updating the charging user interface is soo lame, 200K car, 3 years old, 18% yield

and now wondering about sales going south ?

Give me a break, while I am processing constant part swaps needing paid Porsche Assistance/Assurance to be mobile. Not calculating my own time.

This is the version, but you also need to update several ECUs before; it's about 6h of software updates

@gtm actually got some of those ECU updates together with his car being updates to the intermediary version 3885.

I also got updated to 3885, and didn't get those ECU updates. So it's all about if the dealer wants to spend the time to do it or not, as there is no official Porsche update campaign - Porsche only made a campaign for the first batch of MY25 cars, which also shipped with PCM 3882: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11012767-0001.pdf

Latest version of PCM6 is 4578 however, but no car has been updated to this yet, comes with MY26 shipped

I get a MY26 delivered this year or in January, so I skip the wait :p

This philosophy makes me NOT want to buy another Porsche EV (or ICE for that matter) in the future because they won't provide software updates for long enough compared to other manufacturers. For better or worse, that is the expectation now. There are a lot of good vehicles out there and the competition is quickly heating up. Porsche needs to get their act together over the next few years or they will get dominated.

Porsche has announced new entertainment features for the Macan with Android Automotive OS. https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/202...e-comfort-assistence-entertainment-40360.html

I hope Porsche doesn't forget the existing Taycan customers in software development. At the moment it seems to be quiet about updates. Not even the current problems of the PCM (Navigation Crash, etc) are solved.

I am also curious how Porsche reacts to the Carplay updates such as Airplay Video or Carplay Ultra with iOS26.
The Macan is using different hardware and software.

I get what you’re saying, but then again, just look at your avatar. How could anyone say no to a car that looks that good? If I’m ever in the market again, I’ll buy with my heart, not my head. Most likely I’d make the same choice I did three years ago with the Taycan, fully aware of its flaws.

As noted above, the hardware is different in the Macan. That bit's fair enough to me...

And looking at those new features, the only one that is even remotely interesting (and even then not by much) is using your phone as a key.

The rest are 100% meh, and support those who say software isn't the be all and end all.

So I can't game on the Taycan's screens?! Big frickin deal.

What is extremely piss poor is them not updating cars with the exact same hardware. There is no reason for it other than belligerence and them arrogantly thinking we'll all drop £50k to get an ambient lighting colour wheel (etc).

Well, that and them having incredibly poor architecture that means manual interventions for 6 hours just to update their software. Morons.

As much as I cannot be arsed with gaming in the car, or even using my phone as a key, Porsche have to understand that part of the reason for their residuals on these cars being dog shit is that they are building in rapid obsolescence in their products. And that is not acceptable when spending this much money.

Back in the day when there were no/minimal electronics, that didn't really matter. But times have changed.

Even phone companies are waking up to this. And there products are a single percentage point as expensive.

i just completed a Porsche survey on PCM. They implied that the Taycan's PCM charge planner has the ability to "prefer" and "exclude" charging providers/operators. This feature is available in the My Porsche mobile app, which is a great feature.

I just poked around my j1.1 PCM and the feature is not readily found. Is this only available for j1.2 cars?

You can do it in the app. But once you transfer it to your J1.1 the charge planner will override all charge stops you have planned. A bug that had been fixed in J1.2 PCM. The could easily have brought that to the J1.1 but nooooo, f*** the old customers. Buy a new car to get proper navigation 🤣
