Although Porsche sent me letters re the battery module recall, the brake hose recall and the charging cable recall - each letter stated there was no fix at this time . I called my dealer and he told me bring the car in they do have the parts. Now my car will be in the ship for 2 weeks as they replace the. Brake hoses, battery module,. Provide new charging cable, and do two software updates. So Porsche states dont contact dealer since they don‘t have a remedy at this time and dealer in fact has the remedy. Porsche is out to sea and seems my Taycan has had way to many recalls
Update: Dealer called said the battery cell module has to be sent to a 3rd party and that some of the cells will be replaced. The car will not be ready until end of September. Dealer also told me never to charge the battery going forward over 85%. So if the “fix” re the battery stills limits me to 85% that seems to limit my driving range if I decide to take a trip over 226 miles. without stopping to recharge? The trim above the door on the roof needs to be replaced. Seems hot weather has caused it to warp.( ALL OWNERS SHOULD INSPECT THE TRIM SEE IF ITS WARPING) Brake hoses cracked will be replaced. Bottom line I never had a car this expensive that has required so many days in the shop. Good news is the brakes seem to holding up great, tire depth good after 10 thousand plus miles and undercarriage looks new per dealer.

The letter is not personalised. You and the dealer got lucky that parts are available. And yes, way too many recalls.

"We are notifying you that the brake hose might fail but don't have parts to fix it" is IMHO just a "look, we sent a letter, we're no longer liable" bullshit disclaimer.

One or two recalls, I can understand, but it's getting ridiculous. I've seriously lost count how many of these types of things porsche has pulled with the taycan, and how bad the resolution has been every single damn time.

The charger issue is a good example: they manage to ship a charger that can melt the plug and/or cause fires. Not great... other OEMs have managed to get this kind of simple engineering done just fine. So they send a recall -- the first one I got was "no resolution yet / no parts yet". Then when they eventually have a solution, it's not a new porsche charger, it's "here's money to buy an alternative".
But hey, that wouldn't be so bad.
Except that I have to go buy that charger and then with that receipt in hand ask for a refund.
Which takes work, and which typically takes forever to resolve (If ever). I've been waiting for that reimbursement for 8+ weeks, I'm starting to suspect I wont' see that money ever.

Since Porsche doesn't have the proper parts available, ask if they'll do like the charger and reimburse you for the purchase of an alternate vehicle. :CWL:

Why don't you take the rims that promise a range of 40 km more? If you want a range miracle, you've certainly come to the wrong place. We're writing about sports cars here, not kilometer scroungers.
Don't be angry. ;)

Am I allowed to write something positive about the recalls?

If so:
  1. Heater, notification was extensive (email, app, letter, personalized phone call from actual human being), dealer had the part, and was replaced while I waited.
  2. Charger, I've never found a public 14-50 outlet, I did have a dryer plug at a second home that I used at 50% power (which I monitored with a temperature gun) before I could have a Tesla Universal Wall Charger installed, and Porsche reimbursed me for $600 of that, so BEST RECALL EVER (i.e., pay me $600 for absolutely no loss or inconvenience at all).
  3. Brake, okay, this one is kind of weird, but I'm about due for in a few weeks for my 40k service, so perhaps I'll see if my closest dealer has the part by then instead of having the maintenance done at the Porsche indie around the corner from my house.
[Otherwise, at almost 40k miles, a little over half by me as the second owner, absolutely zero repairs.]

Just wait till you get your replacement cable and it’s manufactured incorrectly (plug is 180degrees out)

I had some bad cells in my 2020 4 S HV battery that caused a loss of range in one week. It took about a month total to diagnose and get a remanufactured 2023 style battery installed.

I am not in the US so no charger debacle but I have had 2 recalls, heater and brake hoses, plus a fix to water ingress to the tailgate in 21 months which, whilst it makes ith the least reliable car I have owned in 50+ years it hasn't been -that- bad, and the car is superb, I can't think of a competitor.

Agree.
I also agree that it is annoying when these issues happen and one has to wait for the fixes to get done.
The longer the wait, the higher the frustration …. but once tha car is back from the delership after the fixes, it still puts a smile on our faces.

So, still worth it in my opinion !

In my case both the heater and brake pipe recall work was carried out in a day, they asked to keep the car for a week to find the source of the tailgate water leak but I had a Taycan CT4S loan car during that time and it took less than a week in the end. So really minimal disruption to my life.
And the road between my house and the dealers is a favourite of mine and I was able to directly experience the difference between the standard CT4S with mine with rear wheel steer, torque vectoring and PDCC - which was a lot more than I expected :)

Call the lads at 800 PORSCHE in Atlanta and politely ask WTF? They will open a case, send you a form letter advising you to (1) chill for another six weeks and (2) call them again if you don't see a check in 6 more weeks. But, if you press a little for details about the inexcusable delay (four months in my case), the dude can offer you a $250 service voucher via e-mail -- which I received almost instantly. This is a pretty good deal, assuming that they actually reimburse me for the charger I purchased in May.

OMG. That's too funny.

I wish I had the time and patience to politely ask.

I hope we all do eventually see the full reimbursement, and also that a future generation of this car isn't such a shit show.

I emailed Porsche customer service and this is part of the reply.
Coincidentally, I received my refund check on following day, regular mail, Plus a $250 service voucher in my inbox this morning. So send them an email at least.

Thank you for contacting Porsche Cars North America. Our apologies for the delayed response It would be my pleasure to assist you.

We extend our sincerest apologies on the delay of this update. Our supervisors here have been working with our headquarters in Atlanta, GA to get the most up to date information on when customers will be receiving their reimbursements.
