I'm not seeing a battery temperature chart at that link?
I know the J1.1 has a 77F/25C minimum for fast charging, which probably means at that temperature adequate rates start to be achieved.
My car takes a long time to precondition, and I haven't seen it level off before reaching a charger.
Also haven't seen the higher temperatures it reaches while charging negatively affecting rate.

Pre-conditioning raises my temperature gauge to 41 degrees Celcius and this was what I got on a 350kW DC Charger

One of the biggest factors in Kyles test are the 21” narrow aero wheels running on Hankook Ion EV. I have experienced the Hankook Ion wheels and to be honest, they will increase range with about 15% compared to the NFO Pirelli P Zero and that’s on 305/265 width. Kyle was using 285/245 in his 21”. I would not be surprised if you would increase range with 50km on J1 just swapping to the 21” Aero wheels offered on J1.2 (compared with J1 factory 21”, either exclusive design or the original Mission E).

Best for range are the 20” Turbo Aero coupled with Hankook Ion EV. This setup would probably increase range with 15-30 km compared with 19” fitted with factory tires.

Test 1: 501km at 70mph/112kph
Test 2: 254/(72-10=62%)=410km at 80mph/128kph
It is a remarkable 18% drop in range for what remains a sedate cruise speed by non-american standards.
Wonder how bad it gets at 90mph/144kph ?

Hmmm. Anyone else also think it would’ve been more?
I agree, we should expect 350+
What about elevation or wind during this test? I will share my findings when I will receive my new Taycan MY2025 in autumn ??

consumption increased by
15% from 65mph/103kph to 80 mph/127kph
39% from 65mph/103kph to 89 mph/142kph

same day, highway, outside temp. was more or less the same.

I am not sure, but if I remember correctly, it happened to my car after that big update in 2022? After the update my car runs at 31 C and heats up to 41 to 42 degrees when navigating to a charger. I think it was only up to 35 C before the big update.
looking at some recent data trips, it seems it depends of the SoC: higher SoC goes with higher T°
It somehow makes sense.

For a refresh, this is all fine…. We’ll need a new model for a breakthrough. It will be obvious as to when Porsche has achieved this as they will make the battery smaller (not larger) and still deliver more of everything. That is still off in the future.
Suspect we'll see some improvements with the Boxster/Cayman.

I noticed that significant drop off, I think the second run was c. 10 degrees cooler but this would only partly account for the difference. Averaging 80mph or even 70mph in the UK is an unachievable dream for most!

With the 16% larger battery and assuming a 5-10% general efficiency improvement, Gen2 should have 22-28% more range on a like-for-like basis (without changing wheel or model types).

Temp: 70mph test ended at 61degF on the dash. 80mph test ended at 57degF, not a major difference.

And higher efficiency at light loads does not translate into linear savings once physics take hold. No matter how efficient you are at 70 mph, aerodynamic drag still increases by 31% between 70 and 80mph.

For my use, low temps are never a factor, but viable range at decent cruise speeds is a factor. We are still very far from the GT benchmark of covering ground in 300mi/80+mph cruise chunks.

This is exactly my set up now since I put the Summers back on in April and I've seen a 10% bump already but need to do more miles to compare properly.
