Wired CarPlay is the only way to get lossless audio from Apple Music. You are correct that wireless CarPlay uses a lossy codec.Have you tried Apple Music directly from the head unit (not through your phone). I believe all Apple Music subscription include lossless audio. I found it to sound better than wireless CarPlay.

However, using the built-in Apple Music PCM player – it is unclear if that now streams the lossless codec.
The external Apple Music API definitely does not yet support lossless playback which gives us a strong hint that the built-in player doesn't either – unless Porsche has got private API access from Apple. Porsche and Apple do tend to announce when they do things together – and I feel if the PCM player was "upgraded" to support lossless playback – we'd have seen an article in Porsche Newsroom about it.
