The only conceivable explanation is that PCNA has been Strava Stalking me and based upon a historical analysis of my driving patterns concluded that a properly functioning heater is a top priority for my travel patterns and hence replaced mine ASAP instead of setting aside replacement heaters for broken heaters. [...]
Somewhat interesting article how Porsche is using AI to target which cars gets heater replaced first.
Translated Article said:
On the basis of the weather conditions in which the car is driven, use of a heater, frequency of charging and close to 60 other parameters, we can calculate a risk score, which provides good knowledge to predict who is most likely to experience the problem within a few weeks - and these can be called in for service first [...]
So my intended joke wasn't too far off from reality!

Mine just failed as well. One week to get into service and a couple of days to get the part. According to the service advisor, this part is no longer stocked at the dealer and requires PAG approval to attain the part. Good news is that the part is local to the states. Without heat, my range is so much better! ?

Great advice, I’ve been feeling the same, there’s no real risk driving the car just Porsche being ultra cautious re demisting. But I do need a courtesy car. If I can’t persuade them I reckon I can achieve a faster turn around at an alternative dealership. I’ll post the outcome…
Having moaned at Porsche Centre and the Porsche assistance team I drove the Taycan to the centre and then had a gripe about the heater recall or lack of in the Uk . Result is that the car was repaired in under a week instead of the usual 3-4 weeks including the Christmas holidays. So good service from my local centre but Porsche uk need to up their game on heater recalls.

Really important!!!
If you get an Enterprise car make sure to take photos, video etc of every inch before accepting it. They take you card number then charge you for damage. I was lucky I had proof that a damaged tyre was present when delivered, only because of my photos. They then refunded the money they stole from me. Better still, get Porsche to fully hire the car for you and don’t give Enterprise your card details.

Further update: Heater failed Monday. Tuesday, car taken to Porsche for - Heater Failure - confirmation. Wednesday, car in for heater replacement and expecting collection, either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning, all being well. That’s the service we expect??
See my previous post on this but local Porsche centre turned the car around in six days including a weekend and two days holiday for Christmas - great service. After moaning at Porsche assistance they ‘let’ me drive the car to the centre.

Just got the heater issue.. Nice long drive back from the parents at Christmas and the the first thing I noticed was the windows misting up and then not clearing. 2.5hr of driving with the window open in the UK winter results in an unhappy family. Waiting for a call back from the dealer now.

Local dealership, cannot fit me in until mid Feb. Advised calling Porsche Assist, these guys are basically the AA badged as Porsche Assist and they work with Enterprise to provide a replacement car. Which he said could be something like an Astra. So for a month and half I pay for a Taycan and drive an Astra!! I have refused. Nothing can happen until after New Year now anyway.

Quick sanity check Please?

I think my heater just failed. Presumably if all I get is cold air with all climate settings on MAX then it’s kaput?

Well that was freaky! I sat in the car, powered off, with the charging cable attached and hit precool/heat on the centre display panel expecting to see the error message described in the link above. Instead, after some loud gurgling and pump whirring the car began it’s 60 minute pre-heat routine with loads of lovely hot air! Wonder if I had some sort of air-lock ?

The hot air flow continued after cancelling the pre-heat and powering on normally. We nicknamed this Taycan “Spook” due to the colour scheme but I’m starting to think it’s haunted in other ways.

Thanks for the help guys. I eagerly await my first genuine heater failure:CWL:

Small update: had a call on the 29th Dec saying our Taycan has been fixed and ready for collection (even though I specified delivery ??‍♂).

Factoring in the festive holiday, it took Porsche Leeds 11 working days to fix.

Hopefully they can delivery her back to me when they open again tomorrow.

The couple of days to get the part will have the clock start ticking at some undetermined time. :)

Anybody else in the states who is waiting on the part?
