Any additional info as to whether this is a full recall in the US yet?

Has anybody in Europe had a recall for a new Heater? My car is due to go in for new PPF on the front bumper late January and I asked them to do a check about heater recall. They came back and said my car was not affected , which seems odd, given the message in the US. There all heaters produced before Feb -23 needed replacing if I remember correctly? At present I. Sweden in minus 20 C so I do not want that heater to fail on the trip home.
I had my car in at porsche (recall for PTC upgrade) late November 2023.
Heating was OK when I delivered the car, but they changed the PTC element anyway.

1. A Taycan forum in Germany I follow has posts that a least a few there have been told to bring the car in for heater replacement even though the car heater is working.
2. Based on @perski post about Porsche replacing heaters , Porsche is metering out the new heaters to cars based on its assessment of failure risk and timing. Although the article seems focused on Norway, I'd guess they are doing the same thing in other countries.
3. I was told by PCNA that the US heater recall was limited to 475 cars initially. Impression I got is that cars will be added to that list in the future.

I conclude from this that every Taycan having a heater manufactured before Feb 14, 2023, will eventually get a new heater. Either when the existing heater fails, or when Porsche adds the car to the recall.

If the heater on your car fails, you should ensure the replacement is a heater manufactured after Feb 14, 2023, or you will likely have another failure.

(And who knows if post Feb 14 2023 heaters will really be more reliable...)

This is a helpful post…especially the attachment. Thanks for sharing. I think where Porsche has gone wrong here is that what they need isn’t AI but actual human intelligence when it comes to this issue. A premium brand with a known issue which at failure leaves its customers literally out in the cold. Regardless of what their AI is telling them, the right thing to do is to launch an aggressive replacement campaign. I don’t care if it’s oldest or coldest first but replace them all asap. Your customers expect nothing less.

Porsche, if you are listening….

My heater failed Monday, Porsche told me to call Porsche Assist, they arranged a car for me to be at my dealer. Dropped the car off the same day, got a Macan which was good then a message to say all done Wednesday. Appreciate some of you having worse experiences that that but I'm very impressed - well done Porsche Silverstone (Sytner)

My heater failed last week. I didn't notice it (I normally keep the cabin temperature low and the seat heater on). My wife mentioned to me that the inside temperature felt cold.
I brought my car in yesterday, the dealer verified the heater needed to be replaced and it was fixed that day.
While any repairs requiring cars to be brought in for service are an inconvenience, it could have been a lot worse. I live 5 minutes away from the dealer so I didn't need a loaner.

I fell foul of the heater failure Friday on a 22MY 4S. Dealer didn't have a loan car available until mid Feb so suggested booking it as a breakdown with Porsche assist.

They have put me into a Porsche UK supplied Macan 4S that was made available today. Dealer says they are now holding heaters in stock so it should only be off the road for 3-4 days next week.

Porsche Assist observed that 'calls with this problem skyrocket whenever cold weather hits'. For a breakdown, I think this is pretty reasonable service, but for resolving a known fault it's poor just to wait until the component inevitably fails.

Come on Porsche - don't leave your customers stranded - recall all affected models for repair in a planned way.

They also don’t do a passive recall in UK?

Here in NL Porsche replace the heather whenever you are in for regular service (or when it breaks of course); but they don’t do an pro active recall, just to replace the heater.

yeah well, duhuh Porsche Assist great observation.

I have six of my colleagues driving a Taycan. Two others and me had the heater. These two had the heater last week they both have to wait until end of February without replacement. For both of them first and last Porsche. One was picked up by Porsche Assist and the guy told him he was collecting lots of Taycans and when the heater is fixed it would be the charger next. He sees a lot of those too. The third colleague Turbo S already had the charger / battery. Driving on the highway and poof, nothing anymore, road side. Still on his first heater. I had the heater last year. One has a gts and he didn’t have anything yet and another RWD only had the alarm thing. But that is fixed.

And like you mention, just waiting when they fail is not a good service. In our small serie 50 % of heaters failed within a year.

Not that I'm aware of. There were 2 other Campaign fixes listed for my car when next in the OPC, the antenna plug replacement and the PCM software upgrade. I hadn't been notified of either until at the OPC service desk today.

Apparently even Texas cold is too much for the Taycan heater? Or did you road trip into the frozen north recently?
It's 15F out right now. I took a trip to get coffee and the cabin never heated up. I added a charger stop and the battery didn't warm either.

Did your first Taycan have a failed heater?
