Loadspace Partition Net

Evening all,

I took delivery of our GTS ST last week and had added the ‘loadspace partition net’ option.

The car has the receiving unit in the roof above the rear seats, but no sign of the net? Anyone have experience of how this is meant to come/work?

I’m assuming the net is part of the option, but you can never be too sure with Porsche options! ?

If you're asking if there is a cargo net for the trunk to hold down loose items that comes with this option, the answer is no. You should only have the partition net that's in the picture. Another person has recently posted a question and photo of their install which you can search for.

The net will either be loose in a bag or built into the rear parcel shelf on a sprung winder mechanism.

There is an option for the saloon which simply stretches across the loading bay.

The CT / ST is as per the picture but depending on the rear seat position it will secure vertically in the roof notches provided.

If you eventually find it, would you mind posting a few photos of it installed? I currently have it in my GTS ST build due next year, but I'm thinking of removing it.

I got it... you can't miss it! It comes in a very large bag and is heavy

It is awkward to fit given the lack of room and it's weight. The BMW execution of load partition nets is vastly superior.



Next issue is the OEM boot liner conceals the securing points so I've currently removed the boot liner. I might consider cutting slots on the boot liner so securing eyes poke through the liner.

You’re absolutely right in saying this solution isn’t a patch on BMW! Doing this in our 5 series touring was a 30 second job.

I just need to work out where my ‘net kit’ is now!

You’re absolutely right in saying this solution isn’t a patch on BMW! Doing this in our 5 series touring was a 30 second job.

I just need to work out where my ‘net kit’ is now!

I think it will be a Stanley knife to cut two holes!
I am glad I tried fitting on a dry sunny day. It probably took me 20 minutes to figure it out , The photo above has it installed the wrong way around. It is a real fiddle to get the roof fixings in place. As you say 30 seconds in a BMW 5 touring or X5

Thanks a lot for taking the time to photograph the partition net, and then posting the photos in this thread. It looks a real ball-ache. I've had an X5 and I currently have a BMW 330e Touring, and they both have far better solutions than this.

So, you've saved me €252 and a big mistake. I'll remove it from my GTS ST order. Cheers!

That load net is indeed a joke. Clearly designed by the work experience student that they decided not to hire, while unsupervised due to his boss giving birth or similar higher priority event.

I had expected one like a roller blind that extends from the back of the boot cover like in my A6 built in something like 2006 to fill the air above the seats and protect passengers from flying suitcases. I don’t see the logic of connecting it to the floor as doing that you may as well put the seats up.

Same as on my RS4 - a roller blind that fits between the rear seats. Glad I didn’t include this for my Taycan if it is this poorly executed.

Looks exactly like the one we got with our XC90. Found it relatively easy to put in, but I’m sure there are easier solutions. That was volvo, so it was industrially built with safety in mind!

No one has mentioned the worst part of the net. The top bar cuts directly through the drivers line of sight out the rear window. The mesh part is below the view out the rear glass. it’s garbage.

Initial install takes a few minutes but once you have the technique down it takes all of 30 seconds to fully install or remove it. You also can use it behind the front seats to separate yourself from folded rear seats or rear passengers - kinda like a taxi.

Also fits our Panamera ST which is where we’ve used it more. Dogs can’t jump the narrow gap between the seats and roof in the Taycan so it doesn’t make much sense in the Taycan, particularly with how it further limits visibility as @JAGMAN mentions.

I use it every time the boot is loaded to a degree that the shelf can not be used. With some practice, it installs in less than two minutes. Glad I optioned it.
