My car garage is wide open right now (almost afraid to close it!) - 8:30PM - and outside temp from car 100F and HV battery at 94F -

Another new world but this one may be too late to reboot!

this WNW2 OTA update was distributed in europe some months ago. I did not see any changes, but there are reports that HPC charges with >40°C starting temps are very fast, even when starting at SoC >40%.

I just received the message while I was driving. Stopped for a bit of shopping and it downloaded with no drama by the time I returned.

Edit: Drama - I did have to do a PCM reboot (for the first time).

Nice try Porsche….better luck next time.

If it deepens the 270kW part of the charging curve, that is a pretty big deal. We need someone to quantitatively measure this.

I had a similar experience..almost anti-climactic!. (thank god)....BUT I am glad that I knew (from the letter) that the car had to be locked to complete the update. Normally my car is in the garage and NOT locked.

My Apple EV routing stopped showing the correct amount of charge so I went into the car this morning to correct. When I did so, I was prompted for the update (drove the car daily, MY22 4S, for the past week but perhaps I missed the prompt earlier).

Followed the instructions as I remember them. Switched car off, was prompted as to whether I wanted to do the update. Selected that I did, it took me to a screen on PCM that said preparing for installation, may take up to three minutes.

Then it said I had to switch off and lock the car etc. Did so and came back about 15 mins later with install performed, no issues. The read out explained it was about the battery charging. The actual update was described as a software update rather than the high voltage battery update that others have seen.

Went back to the car to get an SoH reading and was presented with the blue ring of death on teh PCM - had to reboot yet again and system back but no longer have the notifications I received prior re teh OTA update - presuming a reboot does not reset to a version prior to the OTA update but that would be too weird I suspect.

Also my Soh just like @TurboInCold 's car has not changed one iota since reading last week.

Prior reading 88.9 - same as post-OTA update again only a few days apart:

What OBD2 dongle are you using? I saw an Amazon link in another thread here a few minutes ago, but I am having a hellish time finding it now. I want to say it started with "v" but maybe not...

Thanks, I actually was searching, but the problem was I was looking for the exact link posted in one of 3 threads I had been reading yesterday, and it was just getting annoying with the advertisements on the mobile version of the page. So I had seen several results for dongles, but was looking for the specific one that had been used by a few folks recently. That said, i found the link at this post that I had seen:

I'm ordering it now to do a before-and-after test of the update that appeared yesterday.

Apologies for late response but was dropping mine off at the dealership this AM to get the new and improved 2023 front fan shrouds installed along with a couple of other things.


Also - not sure if you're up to date but only that 1 out of 6 cars with pre and post-OTA Soh readings showed an increase in Soh - all 5 others have zero change or continued decease - fairly confident that the one exception is an anomaly but close enough to be within the known +/-1.5 to more rare 2% variations in the 90 Soh readouts to date.
