The speed limit warning is certainly not part of the 2025 US models... Was your CPO a European car, or how did you get stuck with that?
I'm likely wrong since I haven't seen it turn on in the few drives I've taken today.

There should be a setting to turn off speed limit warning in the Assistance settings in the US. EU requires that to be on at every restart. I am pretty sure about that as I was able to turn it off on Macan EV.

Here you go from the PCM Simulator: Go to Car -> Assistance

Yeah... I know about the settings and how to set a joker key to turn it off (and back on). I read that while Macan had the ability to turn it off permanently, the Taycan didn't. It appears that it can, so I'll test it out a bit more. For today it's been a non-issue.

Interested in feedback from people who have made the move from J1 to J1.2.

Also curious, is ALK still an in-app-purchase buy-in like it was on the old ones?
See if this suggestion makes any sense to you. Investigate the Audi e-tron GT. I had a 2023 GTS and wanted to dump it before the battery left me stranded. The additional range of the .2 was very appealing as the majority of my mileage is done on road trips. I put together a build and neither dealer within driving distance was interested in getting me an allocation. Take something off their lot? Sure (mostly 4 and 4S cars). A very well spec'd order went no where. At that price point I want to take advantage of Porsche's option list and get exactly the car I want. I'm not married to the Porsche crest so I'm not going to beg and work at getting what I want or settle for what the factory sent to their inventory.

Hello Audi. Pretty much identical to the Taycan where it counts. The S e-tron GT I wound up with is probably between the J1.1 GTS and the J1.2 GTS as far as acceleration goes. Plenty quick. Range is still improving (I'm only just over 500 miles) and it looks like I will top out roughly 50 miles above the best GOM figure on the 2023 (280 on the 2023 on 20" wheels vs 330 on the 2026 on 21"). Software is just as convoluted but the response almost instantaneous. Much faster. The interior feel slightly bigger despite going from grey to black (my wife commented on this unprompted so the feeling is real). Might only be an inch less intrusion from the dash or slightly thinner door cards. Rear leg room seems slightly better. Possibly thinner front seat backs. It's not much but less foot twisting is required to get in. And for all I know the J1.2 Taycan might be the same but the two 2025 loaners I had did not feel this way. Fit and finish easily matches Porsche. Customization? Forget it. Two trim levels, some paint choices, wheel size, leather. Done. OK, I can't get a car that is uniquely mine. But the dealers are falling over themselves to make the prospective buyer happy. My dealer found the spec I wanted, did whatever he had to do to get it from another dealership, and had it trucked in. More than happy to throw discounts at me before I even brought up price. Bottom line? I got a car that drives/handles like a Taycan, has an improved battery (at least so far), significantly better range, is considerably less common and cost 2/3 of what the Taycan would have cost. An additional possibly plus is that Audi has a pretty broad range of EVs and the service department seems more comfortable servicing EVs (anecdotal from talking to the service manager but he claimed to have 4 techs trained on EVs vs one or two at Porsche).

Maybe a very close cousin to the Taycan until the 718 EV makes an appearance? You are in a new car with some definite improvements and with Porsche level build quality, without paying the Porsche tax. Love the car so far. But I am not married to the Porsche crest and I realize that can be important to some owners.

Edit: The Prestige trim level includes Audi's version of Innodrive. Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, route/charge planning. I haven't used it extensively but it seems to function at least as well as my old GTS.

Having had a 'forced' switch to J1.2, for me the pluses have been:
1. Much better range - really just do not think about it now
2. Soft close doors
3. Electric charge port standard
4. Even better headlights (I have LEDs)
5. More stable PCM with far fewer random error messages
6. Even better performance
Negatives?
1. Having to re-learn how to use ACC - why they changed the way the control wand works, who knows?
2. Head-up dispaly a bit naff with the little pictures of car, truck, etc - look like cartoon cutouts from Monopoly board
3. 22kW charger not an option (I personally had no issues with this on J1.1)

I put it on “diamond button” since it has to be tuened off every time 🤦🏻‍♂️

@DerekS : as other said, J1.2 is a lot better than j1.1
Somehow, I’ve been forced to upgrade, but i don’t regret it. DEpreciation hits hard, but it’s been forgotten even before i got my car. As other said: lower consumption, more efficient regen, breaks, hd matrix lights, soft close (just don’t understand why trunk doesn’t have that, it’s much louder than in my CT4 🤷‍♂️)… so, here’s another vote for your new J1.2 👍

It looks like I’m doing it, somewhat involuntarily myself.
Is the main reason that you don't think your J1.1 is a reliable car anymore? Or is the main reason some really good deal on a trade-up that you got offered after your recent J1.1 repair adventure?

I suspect you'll be happy with the decision. I've been in a Taycan for about 5 years, starting with a 2020 Turbo S and now a 2025 Turbo. The J1.2 is an all around more refined version of the J1.1. So if you like the Taycan, you'll like the newer version as it's just better variant. Congrats.

A brave decision Derek!
I would not have your confidence that Porsche has ironed out the problems as yet. Seems like the J1.2 is better from reports, but still has some issues.
I can understand it from the point of view that there is hardly any other EV on the market that has the driving dynamics as YET. But I believe there will be in the next 6 to 9 months.

Porsche Taycan is till way overpriced and they somehow live in dream cuckoo land with their pricing and option pricing. And that is likely also reflected in the massive depreciation on this model.

Hope things work out great for you though!

You can also press the button on the ACC stock which will present the option to turn off warning on the main screen.

I’m not sure what’s ACC, but if you meant the programmable button on the screen, i’m using it to turn sports sound on.

Yeah but that's 2 things you have to press.

I'm gonna try to see if it's possible to code that off via PIWIS, I think it might not be SFD2 coding protected. Of course you need a legit PIWIS and PPN.

Or if it's possible to make a device that will turn it off every time the car is turned on automatically.
