For me the same, sometimes its ok, sometimes not. When driving in a city the delay is very problematic. Sometimes It takes 1-2km (about a mile) til wrong instructions from HUD/instrument center is updated. The strange thing is you can see in the HUD how the car is moving out of the area it currently show.

I have also seen another probably related issue: When running the full screen nav in the instrument cluster the map starts to lag in its rendering when the navigation hangs. Even if there is no active route this happens. After a while it starts rendering smoothly again.

What is very interesting is that nobody from the US is reporting this.

This points to either a map issue or an update that happened in Europe only.

I celebrated too soon. Tonight, during a trip of about 50 km, the navigation lost track 3 times. Each time, the turn-by-turn instructions were showing directions from about a kilometer earlier. On top of that, the navigation app crashed once; when that happens, the navigation screens (HUD, cluster, and center display) all go black and then reboot after about 20 seconds. You have to re-enter your destination after the reboot.

I’ve attached some interesting pictures for anyone who wants to see the issues. You’ll notice the same image twice: once with the wrong turn-by-turn info, and once with the correct version. I was stopped at a traffic light when it managed to pick up the route again - note the turn-by-turn info of 1.1km straight and afterward 20m straight with the info about the next turn. The pictures are taking at the exact same spot, 20 seconds apart. The other picture shows the crash.

When I got my car back on Tuesday, I agreed with the dealer that from now on, hardware components will be replaced one by one. The importer first wanted to test the updates before incurring costs on hardware replacements.

Two pictures at the same point, one when the fault occurs, one when it corrected itself: (quality is low, I was behind the steering wheel)

And what I see during the crash;

I doubt it is hardware, otherwise not all EU cars would have broken at the same time...

It's for sure some software gremlin. Curious why only EU.

Are you bringing the car back to service soon? Curious how this situation progresses until Oct, when my appointment is due.

I have the same doubt, I just mailed them for another appointment. Will update when I know something new.

Oct for you is pretty far away… sucks… did your friend with the loaner Macan hear anything yet?

He doesn't have his car back yet. Service is waiting for porsche to communicate how to fix the issue.

They did some updates, reset to factory, etc, but no dice.

I did get 3 maps updates today, within 1h of driving. Which is a lot more than ever, so I do wonder if they are trying something from their backend side. Fingers crossed

Today was a new low. 67 mile journey during which the navigation reset 11 times, losing the destination each time and on the final time it didn’t reload at all for the rest of the journey.

Interestingly at each reset the audio (usb drive source) blipped which is what alerted me to the fact the nav was about to go black and reload.

It did 2 map updates within 20 mins before this started happening. Until then it had been ok again for a couple of weeks.

Aren’t map updates about data? What we need is a navigation update.

I can’t remember the last map update I got, must have been more than a year go. Something js really messed up in my car on top of current navigation issues.

Had a year without any map updates in my previous CT4. Raised tickets with Porsche support but they could never figure it out. Decided to try one last thing: remove all assosiations between PCM and my iPhone, link them back together including letting the phone connect to the car's Wi-Fi.

After a short drive, maps started updating again. Not sure what this was, but it fixed my issue. Could be worth a try for you as well.

Maybe it was you, but I remember reading about this trick before. I tried it, but it didn’t help. Thanks anyway.

Last tuesday they installed latest version through PiWis as it was indeed pretty outdated. So maybe I need to be patient for the next real update.

I can confirm what you describe, had also the reboot issue. I wonder why that loss of destination is unfixed, that is really a hard one, challenging for the driver. Need to get back to my PZ, nearly 3 weeks after picking up my car and they have gone silent with some todos for them, some of which are easy.

Can it be that the Hardware (processor, ram etc) is old and slow and with all the updates of the map (live chargers, parking lots etc) just crashes? those freezes and reboots reminds me some old Windows Pcs....

It could be, but the weird thing is it started for everyone from the beginning of july this year. So something is filling up the ram since then

It does seem to be restricted to Europe and the UK. I wonder whether it’s just the database that’s different per region or als the software (different navigation rules and things).
The way the navigation hangs and catches up does look like a buffering issue or something so it could be that the memory is overloaded. Maybe the system is throwing up insane amounts of logs from errors and bugs related to a corrupted dataset. This could explain why Jasper was ok at first after a reset but is now back with issues as the memory is corrupted again.
its not a gps problem as the display keeps correct my updating the car’s position.
I got another map update this morning, I seem to get 2-3 a week (based in The Hague, NL) but I am wondering if these are really new updates or the same update that keeps trying to install. It reminds me of some software on my computer at home which updates - to the same version - every time I use it as using it causes the time stamp on the software to change which it then sees as a change and downloads the latest (ie same) version again.
