Wasn’t aware that maps and navigation crashing is considered bad weather. Can you link the porsche manual page where this is communicated?

Or am I supposed to consider a sunny perfect day as bad weather, just because it’s a porsche?

The fact that the driver is responsible won’t save porsche from a forced recall with stop driving notice the moment the first time InnoDrive deactivates and kills a family of 4 :)

What sort of pedantic argument is this. Yes, I know very well not to trust InnoDrive in bad weather. Everyone does. 40 degrees in the south of Italy, clear skies, so not bad weather :)

What’s next, the driver is responsible for the building burning down because he decided to park underground in a porsche from a brand that can’t be bothered to actually replace defective hardware?

What kind of stupid victim blaming arguments are these?

“You’re responsible for using a feature that you didn’t know can crash in perfect weather and kill your whole family, because porsche can’t be fucking bothered to do any official communication in their disaster of a product” . Great argument :) Now replace that feature with wheel, or the brakes. Should I also expect those to fail at any given time, and be responsible for any accident if I don’t expect them to fail at any given time? Great joke
I was talking about ADAS. Navigation mapping is not an ADAS system and not to my knowledge affected by climatic conditions.
ADAS is an Advanced Driver "Assistance" System. It assists the driver, but the driver is responsible for being prepared to take over from the car. Read the handbook and it will explains the climatic situations that affect the radar and camera limitations.!. For your info. Forward facing cameras can be affected when driving towards the sun when the sun is just above the horizon as the optics get saturated with the bright light. My FFC also occasionally stops working due to condensation.

And here we are saying how Adas deactivates without any warning when the map/navigation crashes :) endangering the occupants of the car and all other participants in traffic.

no need to explain to me what adas is, when you reply without reading

do you understand that adas is doing a Houdini act and vainishes, without warning, in perfect conditions, the moment navigation resets? :)

Latest rumor from PFF.de :
  • The 2019-2025 Taycan's software cannot be fixed as is;
  • It'll be replaced with the 2026/J1.2 model software.
Bold formatting mine (and VFL = Vor FaceLiftr = J1.1):

It seems the poster got the information from the Hanburg Porsche Zentrum; which is quite a large one; which would explain why this service center's expert has more information than other service centers.

The bad: we need to wait even longer.
The good: we'd get the new PCM software; with the phone navi in the dash map.
My apologies for potentially asking a well known question but do we know for a fact that J1.2 SW solves this highly annoying and even dangerous issue?

Driving Taycan de facto without pre-heating here in frozen tundra is a less than perfect experience as the range is a bit on short side to begin with.

If you place a dc charger as destination, there is no problem with pre-heating of the battery.

J1.2 is not plagued by this problem. The problem with the preheating is not driving with a cold battery, it is that you have a cold battery when you arrive at a DC charger resulting in low charge power making your charge stop very long. There is ways around the problem, but you loose flexibility, you need to manually plan charging stops.

Shame PAG HQ ain't reacting - Their reading of the situation and failure to communicate on it to customers is deplorable! People can accept bad news, but to be ignored, when things are going wrong, is the worst business practice and shows PAG's true and total lack of care for customers.
Just need to say Alan, that Acid green PTS is EPIC!!!!

Why Porsche can't do like Volvo and replace the current PCM that have problems with the latest version and new software?

https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/eu-uk-ongoing-navigation-issues.28704/

Even if the customer would have to pay for it, some of us would be happy to keep the latest version.
Exactly, same as Tesla did on Model S with MCU1 to MCU2, most people paid (a nominal sum) to have it upgraded rather than just the bare minimum fix when given the opportunity to do so.

Sadly, Porsche can't get in that modern mindset, they are still stuck in the "if you want new stuff, buy a new car" oldschool mentality.

I had 3885 via OTA back in Jan and didn't notice any differences or any crashes of the PCM itself, but regardless, I stopped using the built-in satnav and PIRM about 1.5 years ago. There is nothing intelligent about the service; it quite often brought me issues.
I stick to ABRP separately and CarPlay just for the ease of convenience.

Had 3885 couple of weeks ago, hasn’t crashed since in normal use with planner on, didn’t expect that!

Mine crashed once quite quickly.... Then nothing for a couple of weeks... Then crashed every 5mins and currently (as of yesterday) doesn't want to work at all for nav (maps show fine, calculates a route, then doesn't show it).

I've become used to using Android Auto if I need navigation.

As mentioned previously, had 3885 update and hasn’t crashed since, but I did notice some services like the weather widget and Apple Music and podcasts went offline occasionally and I’m pretty sure this didn’t used to happen. Now it’s all gone, the LTE symbol is crossed out and I have no service.

Doesn’t make sense than this would be connected to 3885 but could it be? The car also had the 12v battery sensor update, again could losing LTE have been caused by that?
