And there’s a few hundred people for which 3885 and pcm replacement did nothing. Me included.

The issue is not in the backend, hence porsche is working on a PCM update. It’s also why taycans running 4360 don’t have it.

It’s a caching issue, and sadly 4000km on common routes with not many public chargers will probably not trigger it.

I also don’t get it on my daily commute, but as soon as I go out of that daily path, I get the problem.

At this point it’s pointless to speculate. Multiple sources from multiple countries have confirmed a software update is happening, and I myself know from people working on it that it is happening… eventually.
Crossed the whole country in the past couple of weeks only for the issue to appear again on my daily commute today...

I would bet large it will be a dealer visit.
Yea. In my mind the fix will be to move to a build the J1.2 runs currently which is known good, and it's the other parts of the car which can't be updated via OTA will require a dealer visit so everything plays nice. It'll end up as a technical bulletin and you'll only get the update if you ask about it.
(My opinion)

Well I'm not paying my Connect until it's fixed (Porsche have comped it) so I imagine they'll want mine updated and working as soon as a fix is available.

Mine started crashing again the other day and then I discovered that charge management had re-enabled itself!!

That's interesting... Did they comp you within a current subscription, or you got to renewal and they gave you some free months?
I asked the same question and didn't get that offer...

I demanded no payment til it was fixed, this was in March so they kept the subs going but refunded three months payments which I agreed to providing the solution appeared in Q2 as they have promised.

If it's not fixed in Q2, I'll be going back to them.

I got mine extended by 6 months for free, by which point the issue should be fixed. That was 5 months ago I believe

I've had that a few times. Had a random crash, realised charge management had come back!

I've just renewed my Connect sub today. I should kick up a fuss about the useless nav because £23 a month is a bit rich for a system that doesn't work properly.

It would be nice for that to happen.

The cynic in me suggests this is taking so long as they are busy unpicking the improvements they made on the J1.2...so all the display updates, charge plan tweaks, cosmetic items like ambient lighting tweaks etc won't be there :)

I laughed out loud at this because it’s one of those fml moments lol. I’m sorry dude.
Don’t worry, I’m in a “better laugh it off” phase with this car. 1 week later I got an irreparable puncture in another tyre too. I’ve already made my max 2 tyre claims on insurance this year so it’s been an expensive month.

On the plus side, the navigation continues to work fine with charge planning disabled which gives me more confidence in our long trips this Spring (provided the punctures stop happening)

Nearly two months after mine was in because of the crashing PCM, the nav has started restarting while in use today. I guess this will progress onto full PCM crashes just as it was. Any hope that the update to 3885 had fixed it or it was a backend server problem gone.
