I'm still very disappointed with how long battery preconditioning can take, two of my charging stops were within 30 mins of setting off and battery temps only rose to low 20's. Charging was "slow"
I don't understand. Yes, it takes a long time but charging will always be slow unless your battery is properly empty. How much could you have drained in 30 mins? Above 65% or so you won't see 150. Above 80% you are down to 50.

PS: You also require a HPC that's willing to play to begin with. Just because such a thing boasts a capacity of 400kW does sadly not mean that it will make that available.

They have already. Newer PCM versions, 4360+ bring a new charging planner, faster route planning, with dynamic load of charge points, with prefered operators, speed filters, blocked operators, prefered charging location, blocked charging location, etc.

It's just that porsche refuses to update j1.1 cars to 4360+ pcm versions :D

So we're stuck with old porsche charger planner, that is not regression tested anymore :D

So they already have the improved one, the solution. They just want to avoid paying services to install 4360 PCM version, since it can't be done OTA, to save every last penny. And it is compatible, PIWIS says it is compatible, and multiple services told me they can do it, but it will void any warranty.
Can't attach picture for whatever reason, but here's some of the settings in the updated porsche charging planner that PCM 4360 and beyond brings:

There's quite a few more options.

A lot of hidden features are also brought within the menus on 4360+ ; like initiating the brake cleaning feature manually, or seeing the % of brake bedding, etc.

And I would bet Porsche stock, since there's not much to lose, that they stopped bothering to do regression testing for the old one when they release any update :D

Sadly at Porsche decisions are not made by engineers, and whoever is making the calls, thinks people will buy a new taycan to get new software, and he thinks wrong lol

I would say so. They will more likely find that more people cancel their PCS, which is a nice earner for them.

Why were the first charging stops within 30 minutes. Did you not charge the car the night before or during the night with AC.

I f you set the destination and have enough SoC setting off, the Charge Planner should not choose a charging stop after 30 minutes! I have done many trips with up to 1000 km per day, but always started with about 80 or 90 % charge in the morning. Even in minus 20C and the first charging stop the battery was heated to 40C. After about 2 hours driving.

Your observations are spot on. This particular journey is a combination of unfortunate circumstances where my state of charge is not optimal for fastest charging and not enough time for adequate preconditioning. The next leg of the journey is always much better. The hour and half to the next charging destination always allows for good battery temps. I think i'm craving something that just isnt possible :)
On the plus side, no crahses or restarts. I'll take that as a win!

@Matt-Taycan To recap, your Taycan is a J1.1 and Porsche (which service center?) installed a new PCM on warranty in response to your complaints about the nav? Can you tell us what software version that new PCM is on?

My car is back, issue is "fixed", but unsure what was performed. All my data was reset, so I suspect just a reset to factory was performed, and it's a temporary fix... we shall see.
Glad it's fixed Chun 🤞🤞🤞.... Have you checked Navpack and PCM version numbers etc - to see what's changed?

whuut, my Nav pack's version is "--" since the last update. Does that mean it is corrupt since it doesn't have a version number?

I had that. The information was back after locking the car, leave it be for some time and going back in it.
