Was it a total waste of your time or did they do anything else e.g. the 12v and camera campaigns?

A few other bits were done under warranty, sorting out the rear spoiler deflection, replacing a door trim and attempting (but failing) to fix one of the cupholder ambient light rings which is still dim.
Oh, also got stung for a replacement tyre after they noticed a bulge in the sidewall, no doubt from the sh*t ton of potholes in the UK roads at the moment!

So my MY20 4S goes in tomorrow for some cosmetic repairs and software fixes. I have a rebooting nav and freezing boot PCM. The service manager has told me the update to 3885 will fix the freezing boot (Porsche logo) but there is no known fix for the rebooting nav. She said Porsche knows about it but don’t have a solution. They have told her, turning off all options of 3D, satellite view, POI and charge routing will limit the amount of rebooting it does. So essentially if I don’t use the sat nav, it won’t crash 🤣

I don’t hold out much hope for any improvement but at least it will be washed for free and I’ll get to burn petrol for 2 days 😈

I have just returned from a two week road trip to France and discovered this SatNav issue for the first time on the first day of the trip . My dealer told me that I would need to bring the car to them so they could install a patch that would fix things. When I booked my car in yesterday the dealer advised me that the patch was found not to be the solution and that Porsche are still trying to solve the problem. No idea how long this might take and no mention of possible hardware replacement option. IMHO Porsche are correct to be worried that this may harm their reputation. It has certainly damaged my view of the quality of their product and service

The thought of Porsche dropping their reputation further when its comes to IT etc is difficult when they are already on the bottom rung imo.

I've noticed this pattern; MY 2020 - MY 2024. Seems like it is starting with a bigger road trip, and after that road trip, it is broken for good.

Does this affect ALL uk/europr cars or just a selct few?
Only porsche can say for sure the number of affected cars, but they didn't release any official info on it.

The only commonality is that all the cars that have it run on PCM version lower than 4360; so in theory it can affect all 2020-2024 cars, depends how much the PCM map is used by people.

Full map crashes/restarts seem to happen only on longer trips, while turn by turn navigation freeze can happen on any trip - but most people don't relay on turn by turn navigation for most driving, only on longer trips.

So the full scope of people affect by this issue is likely masked by driving pasterns that don't necessarily surface the problem as much.

German forum has a significant amount of people affected, and so does the facebook group. Reports of it started to appear on reddit also. So with time more and more people start to notice the issue despite their driving patterns.

The mechanic's chief told me that I they have already 3 Taycan with the same problem for the moment.
We’ll see after the holidays that is just starting but I’m afraid, and at the same time hope, that there will be a lot more arriving with this issue.
Porsche AG told them that they are sending this afternoon a new patch to test on the 3885 and they don’t want to replace the pcm for the moment. Anyway we know it doesn’t solve it.

As we don’t trust this car, my wife refuses to take it to travel tonight so we are leaving them the car to install the patches and do long test drive.
It’s sad to have a nice Taycan CT4S and be obliged to take another car to travel.

I’ll keep you posted if there are any changes.

I completely agree — it’s utterly disappointing how Porsche is treating Taycan customers, especially considering the significant financial hit many of us have had to absorb. At the time, we didn’t know, but looking at the situation now, it seems irrational to buy a new Taycan.

Dealer lots are full of low-mileage, two- to three-year-old lease returns priced at €60k–70k, and there’s very little demand. With a new model coming out next year, residual values will likely drop even further.

Do you have more info about the patch? I'm amazed Porsche AG is actually working on it and want to test it on your vehicle!

Hello, my dealer contacted me to confirm there's a new update to fix the navigation crashes. I'm picking up my Taycan on Monday, I'll test it and let you know.

Well I got it back, 3885 installed and it survived the 30 mile trip home without any faults. So we will see what happens.
It has to go back next week as it has a ride height sensor recall and no parts in the uk 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦‍♂️
